Frequently Asked Questions

Are all VanArtHub artists based in Vancouver?

Most are based in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Some are elsewhere in Canada. Each artist's location is noted in their collection page and product descriptions.

What defines Vancouver art?

Coastal light, abstract and contemporary tendencies, and a dialogue with the natural landscape that avoids postcard sentimentality. It is young, direct, and increasingly regarded internationally.

Can I visit the gallery in Vancouver?

Yes. The VanArtHub gallery is at 1242 Davie Street in Vancouver's West End, open Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Walk in during opening hours, or call (604) 401-9499 to arrange a time.

Is Vancouver art a good investment?

Vancouver's contemporary art scene has been gaining recognition, and original works by emerging Canadian artists are generally priced lower than comparable pieces from established international markets. Art values can rise or fall, though, so this isn't financial advice: buy a piece because you love it, with any value growth as a possible bonus.

Do you do custom framing in Vancouver?

Yes, and you do not have to buy artwork from us first. We frame in our own workshop on Davie Street: paintings and drawings, photographs, art prints, posters and maps, diplomas, awards and certificates, and objects and textiles such as jerseys, medals and embroidery in shadow boxes. Bring the piece to 1242 Davie Street during opening hours and we will hold mouldings against it while you wait.
