Original paintings by Canadian artists for design projects, each one hand-painted, signed, and one of a kind, so no other project can use the same piece.
A trade account includes volume pricing, direct communication with the artist for custom commissions, preview access to new work before it is listed, and coordinated curation across multi-room projects. We work in the terms you already use: lead times, palette, scale, and budget.
You know the brief. The client wants an original, not a print, not a reproduction, and not something another designer has already used. They want presence, scale, and a story, and they want it on schedule. Every painting here is a one-of-a-kind original, so a piece you place in one project cannot appear in someone else's. The collection is sorted for professional sourcing: abstract work for corporate spaces, figurative pieces for residential, surrealist statements for hospitality. If a project needs something that does not exist yet, tell us and we will take it to the artist.
How do interior designers source original art for client projects?
Designers source from us the way they source any specified product: browse live one-of-a-kind inventory, shortlist against the scheme, mock the pieces into the client's room, and order with documents that survive an audit. The difference from a print house is that every work here is a hand-painted, signed original, so the shortlist is also a reservation problem: when a piece sells, it is gone, and there is no reorder. Designers who work with us learn to shortlist early and decide fast. New inventory lands continuously in latest artworks, and schemes built on quiet palettes lean on our neutral modern wall art, which behaves predictably next to fabric and stone samples.
How do you get client sign-off on art before buying?
Use our see art on your wall tool: upload a photo of the client's actual wall, place the exact painting on it to scale, and send the client the image for approval. This closes the gap that kills art specifications, which is the client's inability to imagine a specific painting in their specific room. A rendering of the piece on their own wall converts a vague yes into a real one, and it protects you when memory of the meeting differs later. The second layer of protection is the 14-day trial: the installed piece can come back for a full refund, return shipping paid by us, so sign-off is never a trap for the client or for you. That combination lets a designer present originals with the same confidence as a sofa from a catalogue.
From shortlist to installed painting is typically under two weeks in Canada and under three to the USA, because our work is finished and in stock rather than made to order.

Shipping is free and fully insured, and we can ship straight to the project address. The honest constraint runs the other way: because each work is unique, a piece admired in January may not exist in March, so art should be specified with the finishes, not after the furniture arrives.
How does the art advisory service work with designers?
Send our art advisory team the floor plan, palette, and budget, and we return a shortlist of available originals matched to each wall, at no charge and with no obligation. Think of it as an outsourced first pass: you keep the taste decisions, we do the inventory legwork. Every delivered piece arrives with an invoice and a Certificate of Authenticity for the client's records, and our Lifetime Trade-Back means a client whose taste evolves in five years can trade toward new work for store credit, which designers use as a genuine selling point. We will also say plainly when we are the wrong source. A project needing forty coordinated prints for a corridor program should use a print supplier, and we will tell you so rather than stretch our originals thin across it.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make sure my client never sees the same painting in another home?
Every piece we sell is one of a kind, so once your client buys it, nobody else can have that painting. There is no edition, no second print run and no restock. When a piece sells we keep it on the site permanently in our sold archive rather than deleting it, so you can point to that page later as proof the work was unique.
What do designers here usually spend per piece?
The middle of this collection sits around $500 a piece, with the full range running from about $93 to $28,000 for the rarest work. That middle band buys an original signed painting with a Certificate of Authenticity, free insured delivery and the 14-day trial. Sizes in that band vary widely, so send us the wall dimensions and we will say what your budget realistically buys.
Can you supply a matching set of pieces for a hallway or a suite?
No, and this is the honest limit of buying original art. Every painting is one of a kind, so we cannot produce three matching canvases for a corridor. What we can do is group works that share a palette, a scale or an artist, which reads as intentional rather than repeated. If your brief truly requires identical pieces, original art is the wrong specification.
Can I use the 14-day trial on a piece I am presenting to a client?
Yes, the 14-day trial applies to designer purchases too, and we pay the return shipping. Hang it in the room, photograph it in the real light, and if the client says no, return it within 14 days in the condition it arrived for a full refund. That is usually faster and more convincing than another round of mood boards.
What sizes should I plan for over a console or a bed?
Plan for something roughly two thirds the width of the furniture below it. Work in this collection runs from about 30 cm up to 150 cm wide, so a 150 cm console usually wants a piece near 100 cm, and a queen bed wants something in that same range. Leave about 15 to 20 cm of wall between the furniture and the bottom of the piece.
Do you work with designers outside Vancouver?
Yes, we ship to designers across Canada and the USA. Everything leaves our Vancouver studio free and fully insured, taking about 3 to 7 business days inside Canada and 5 to 10 to the USA. If you are local you can bring a client to the studio by appointment. If you are not, we work from your photos, floor plan and budget.
How do interior designers buy art from VanArtHub?
Designers browse our live inventory of signed originals, mock up shortlisted pieces on photos of the client's walls, and order online with delivery to the project address. There is no trade portal to apply for. Our advisory team will also build shortlists from your floor plan free of charge.
How much do original paintings cost for client projects?
Our originals start around $72 and run to several thousand for statement scale, with most residential specifications landing between $300 and $2,000 per piece. Free insured shipping keeps the quoted price the final price, which makes budgeting a client's art line straightforward.
How do I show a client what the art will look like in their room?
Upload a photo of the client's wall to our see art on your wall tool at /pages/art-in-your-room and place the exact painting on it to scale. The result is a realistic preview you can send for sign-off, which removes most of the imagination gap that stalls art approvals.
How fast can art arrive for an install date?
Within Canada, 3 to 7 business days from order; to the USA, 5 to 10. All shipping is free and fully insured, and pieces arrive ready to hang. Because works are finished and in stock, art can usually be ordered later in the schedule than custom furniture.
What happens if the client rejects the piece after installation?
The piece goes back under the 14-day trial for a full refund, and we pay the return shipping. This protects the designer relationship: recommending an original never puts your client's money at risk during the decision window, so you can specify with confidence rather than hedging.
Is every piece really one of a kind?
Yes, each painting is hand-painted, signed, and unique, with a Certificate of Authenticity included, and we do not sell reproductions of paintings. The practical consequence for designers is scarcity: a shortlisted piece can sell to someone else, so approvals are worth chasing promptly.
Do you help designers with selection?
Yes. Send the floor plan, palette, and budget to our art advisory service and we return a wall-by-wall shortlist of available originals at no cost. You keep full creative control; we simply do the searching. Many designers use it as a second pair of eyes on large projects.
When should a designer not specify original art?
Skip originals for high-volume corridor programs, short-lease commercial fit-outs, or any project where the art budget per wall sits below roughly $100. Those calls for prints are legitimate, and we would rather say so than see one original stretched across a brief it cannot fill.
Exceptional Service and a Truly Memorable Art Purchase
I had a wonderful experience with Van Art Hub Gallery. I came across two pieces by Melina Ghaemi — *Mad Mirrors* and *Small World in the Hands of a Stranger* — and immediately fell in love with them.
I contacted Van Art Hub Gallery, and they were incredibly helpful throughout the entire process, from arranging the payment to organizing the shipping. At first, I was a little skeptical and nervous about how everything would work, especially since the paintings were still in Iran and it was shortly after the war. But the gallery handled everything with such professionalism and care that my concerns quickly disappeared. Amazingly, they were able to get the paintings to Canada in just two days!
The pieces are absolutely captivating. Even when I picked them up from the frame maker and was simply carrying them to my car, several people stopped and asked me about the paintings. That says a lot about how striking and special Melina Ghaemi’s work is.
A big thank you to Van Art Hub Gallery for making this experience so smooth and enjoyable. I truly appreciated their professionalism, communication, honesty, and integrity throughout the entire process. I would happily work with them again and highly recommend them to anyone interested in purchasing art through the gallery.
