Why is there such a wide gap between the cheapest and the most expensive modern painting here?
Prices in this collection run from about $93 to about $1,650, with the middle near $500, and the gap is mostly size, medium and hours of work. A small coloured pencil piece on artboard is a few days of work. A large oil on canvas going to about 120 by 150 cm can be weeks of layering and drying time between coats.
What is the most common mistake people make buying modern art online?
Buying too small. The piece people regret is usually the one they sized down to feel safe, because on a wide wall it looks too small to matter. The second common mistake is matching a painting to a cushion, which ties the art to furniture you will replace in a few years. Choose the size for the wall and the painting for itself.

Every painting ships free and fully insured from our Vancouver studio, arriving in about 3 to 7 business days inside Canada and about 5 to 10 to the USA, and the Certificate of Authenticity comes in the same package. If you use the 14-day trial and send the piece back, we pay that return shipping too, so the trial costs you nothing.
