We ship from our Vancouver studio and prepare the export paperwork ourselves. Shipping to the USA is free, fully insured, and usually 5 to 10 business days. We cannot promise what a border agency will charge on any given day, so if that matters to your budget, write to us before you order and we will tell you exactly how the shipment is declared.

Yes, we invoice company and office purchases. Ask us before you order and we will send a written invoice listing each work, its artist, size, medium and price. Every piece also ships with a Certificate of Authenticity, which is what an accountant or an insurer usually wants on file. If several pieces are going to one office, send us the wall sizes and we will build the group together.

Ask how the colour behaves in ordinary room light, and ask about the edges. Photos are shot in daylight against a plain wall, so the two surprises later are evening lamplight and whether the sides of the canvas are painted or left bare. We will tell you both if you ask. Ask us the wall size you should be shopping for too.

Ask us and we will usually hold it for a short window, as long as you are honest about your timeline. Nothing on the site is reserved automatically, and since every piece is one of a kind, a hold is a favour we do by hand rather than a system. If you need longer, buy it and use the 14-day trial, because returns cost you nothing.

We will never tell you a painting will rise in value, and we will not sell you something to fill a wall by a deadline. We also push back when someone picks art to match a sofa, because the sofa gets replaced in five years and the painting does not. If a room genuinely needs something we do not stock, we say so and send you elsewhere.

A painting is archival when every layer is made to last: an acid free or properly primed support, artist grade pigments with high lightfastness ratings, stable stretcher bars, and a protective finish where the medium needs one. Student paints fade and cheap board turns brown. The materials list is the difference between decades and a few years.

Yes, an original painting on a properly primed canvas or archival paper can pass 100 years easily, and museums prove that daily. The limits are almost always environmental rather than material: strong sun, damp basements, radiators, and smoke shorten a painting's life far faster than time does. Hang it sensibly and it will outlive the sofa.

Aim for a steady 18 to 22 degrees Celsius and 40 to 55 percent relative humidity, because it is the change, not the level, that cracks paint and warps panels. Keep art off cold exterior walls and away from heating vents, fireplaces, and bathrooms. A cheap hygrometer on the wall tells you more than guessing does.

Yes, artist grade materials can double the cost of making a piece, since single pigment paints, linen, and archival paper cost several times their student grade versions. That difference shows up in the price and in how the piece looks in thirty years. We would rather sell fewer works than sell paint that fades.

If you buy one significant piece, buy for your main wall and take about two thirds of that wall's width, commonly 120 to 150 cm (48 to 59 inches) in a living room. One well chosen larger work carries a room in a way that five small pieces cannot. Mark the size with painter's tape before deciding.

Fine art is made as the artist's own statement, one piece at a time, while decorative wall art is produced to fill a space and is usually printed in editions of hundreds. Both can look good in a room. Only one is unrepeatable and signed by the person who made it. That is what we sell.
