Should I buy a landscape that looks like the view from my window?

Usually not, and we talk buyers out of it. A painted version of the view you already own competes with the real thing and loses every time the weather changes outside. We steer buyers toward a landscape that gives the room a second climate: colder light for a warm room, an open horizon for a room with no view at all. It is packed by hand in Vancouver with nothing touching the painted surface, corner protection on the stretcher, and a box built around the piece, then shipped free and fully insured. Plan on two people to unbox and hang anything over a metre wide, more for control than for weight. Keep the packing for 14 days in case you use the trial.

The landscape I liked shows as sold. Why is it still on the site?

Because we never delete a sold painting. Each one is a one of a kind original, and its page is a permanent record of the work, kept online for the buyer, for anyone researching the artist, and for you to point at and say what you liked.
